The architecture profession in many parts ofAfrica today is in limbo. In some countries thenobility of the profession has becomequestionable and a lot of works done in ourcities follow no ethical norms and we end upwith countless of structures collapsing. Thereason for this is, the lack of adequateregulations and strong institutions to tacklethe task of correcting the situation.
Many will argue the responsibility of thesepreventable deaths lies with structuralengineers and other construction industryplayers, true or not, architects too have a roleto play in those.
